Madagascar Dracaena Tree
Scientifically known as Harungana madagascariensis, the Dracaena Tree is a unique and fascinating species indigenous to Madagascar. Known for its distinctive appearance and rich cultural heritage, it has been referred to by botanists as the "Guardian of the Forest." In 2017, its active ingredient received the Silver Award for Best Active Ingredient at In-Cosmetics Asia. When the trunk is cut or damaged, the tree releases a deep red sap that rapidly oxidizes upon exposure to air, producing a crimson-red color reminiscent of dragon's blood. The sap is rich in proanthocyanidins and catechins, valuable botanical compounds recognized for their antioxidant and skin-conditioning properties.
